Story 362
Jimmy Stewart - I was an altar boy in old St. Peters church in downtown Manhattan in NYC. In 1956 I just finished serving mass when another altar boy told me they were making a movie on Broadway outside of the Woolworth building. Being a movie buff I ran up the street to watch. The name of the movie was-the Spirit of St. Louis - in which James Stewart played Charles Lindbergh. After shooting the scene Mr. Stewart was signing autographs for fans, he looked at me and said "I think you are supposed to be someplace else". What happened was, I forgot to take my altar boy cassock and surplus off. Mr. Stewart was very nice to everybody. It was well worth the run.
