Story 495
Stevie Wonder - It was on the steps of the United States Capitol building in Washington, D.C. Stevie Wonder had just sang his version of "Happy B'day to Ya" for the anniversary of MLK's b'day. A crowd of people were standing by as Stevie started to leave, surrounded by his entourage. I was the only one bold enough to approach Stevie's group and say, "Can we shake Mr. Wonder's hand". He graciously held out his hand as I was told to make it quick. I rattled on and on to him as we walked. When I came back down the stairs my right leg almost gave way as I was shaking uncontrollably. However, I got a pat on the back from an admiring fan.
