Story 486
George Takei - I was a client of "Being Alive", an AIDS support organization in Long Beach, CA. George Takei was scheduled to give a lecture. I am a dyed-in-the-wool Star Trek enthusiast. He gave his lecture. I paid little attention to what he said. I was the first to raise my hand when he opened the Q & A portion. I asked him which television episode was his favorite as well as which feature film. He didn't hesitate in his answer. "The Naked Time" where Sulu was afftected by some sort of airborne virus and was running around the ship shirtless challenging the crew to duel. His favorite feature: "The Undiscovered Country" where Sulu finally becomes captain. His favorite line was near the end of the movie when Bones commented on his ship, the Excelsior, saying, "That's a big ship." Scotty retorted, "Aye, but not as big as its captain."
