Story 44
George Will - In 1985 or 1986, I was eating lunch at a Pizza Hut in Bethesda, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C., with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. My friend, a diehard political conservative, was saying something about George Will saying something profound on the Sunday morning David Brinkley show. As my friend was talking, George Will walked into the restaurant with two children, maybe 8 and 10 years old. Will sat down in the booth behind my friend, who didn't see Will walk into the restaurant. I whispered to my friend that Will was sitting behind him. He didn't believe me, but eventually saw him. A few weeks later, the same friend and I saw Grady of Sanford and Son in an Arlington, Va. record store with an attractive, young white woman. I swear.
