Lucille Ball - The first of several times that I met Lucille Ball was while she was taping the introduction of the "Situation Comedies" segment of a TV retrospective at Metromedia Square. It was a CLOSED SET but I was able to get access. I stood there in awe or her and after she taped (and critiqued) her segment a stage hand walked up to her to ask for her autograph. He said it was for his niece and she replied "Gawd forbid it should be for you!!" It was MY turn to approach her with a beautiful B&W photograph from "MAME" that she very obligingly signed and very graciously chatted with me for a few seconds before being interrupted by BOB HOPE. She Was A STAR!!!!!!
