Story 129
Ricky Nelson - I was in love with Rick Nelson from the time I was 3 years old, in 1963, watching "Ozzie & Harriet" on TV. I saw him 26 times in concert, and still have a scarf with his sweat on it, and he leaned down to kiss me 5 times over the course of a few concerts at the Roxy in L.A. (I have pics to prove it!) My father took me to the Troubadour when I was a young teen and walked me over to Ozzie, Harriett, David, June, the whole family and introduced me to them as Rick's biggest fan. They were all very, very nice and warm. I still believe Rick Nelson to be the best looking man that ever walked the face of the earth. I had tickets to a January concert in Orange County, CA when I learned, as we all did, of his New Year's Eve death. I have tons of pictures and lots of memories that won't fit on this space. He was the TRUE originator of country rock, his music was way ahead of it's time, only fans of the past just wanted his old classics. For me, his writing reflected so much that meant a lot to me. I miss him still...=^^=
