Whoopi Goldberg - I was in a downtown San Francisco bookstore (on the street where the cable cars roll past loaded with tourists going to Fisherman's Wharf), when Whoopi Goldberg walked into the shop. Our eyes met and I smiled. She smiled and nodded, as if to say "Yes, I am who you think I am". I wanted to respect her privacy, so I did not approach her after that, although I'd love to know what book she eventually bought.
