Del Shannon - I met Del Shannon while I was directing cars at a club called the Silver Moon in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He was playing there that night in 1971. The band took a break, several cars left the lot and about 20 minutes later a brown 1968 Buick Skylark pulled up to me and it was Del Shannon. He said "Could you park this for me? I gotta get back on stage." He had a used guitar strap in his hand and said "Does your ma have a sewing machine?" I said yes. "Here, it's yours, thanks," he replied. I still have it 35 years later and never did sew the seam.
