Doc Severinsen - In 1975 I was in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. During one of the evening parades down Canal Street I was wandering down a side street after having a bit too much Mardi Gras cheer. One of the floats from the parade had pulled off Canal and come to a stop and I was standing beside it when I looked up and saw Doc Severinsen in one of his most outragous outfits. He had been in the parade. I looked up and yelled "Hiya, Doc!" as if I knew him. He laughed, crouched down and spoke to me about the celebration, before the float started up again. He was way friendlier to to me than I deserved. What a great guy.
