Gloria Steinem - In the mid'80s I was at the San Jose, CA airport to pick up a friend. Standing next to the luggage carousel I saw a woman waiting for her luggage. She had a carry-on in one hand and she tried to retrieve a big suitcase with the other one. I told her I could help and stepped up to assist her. She said she didn't really need help but she allowed me to grab the suitcase anyway and thanked me. As she wheeled it toward the door, I began to think she looked familiar. By the time she got to the waiting limousine outside, I realized I had just helped the famous women's rights advocate, Gloria Steinem.
