Story 232
Karl Haas - I was working as a gas station attendant in Southfield, Michigan in the early 1970's when a brown Cadillac pulled in, its driver asking for a fill-up. As the tank filled, I checked the oil and, as I was about to close the hood, the driver stuck his head out the window and said, "Don't slam the hood, please." When he handed me his credit card to pay for the gas, I realized it was Karl Haas, whose radio program "Adventures in Good Music" originated at that time from radio station WJR in Detroit. After he signed the slip for me, I started to tell Dr. Haas how much I enjoyed his program, but before I could, the window zipped up and off he drove.
