Larry Brown - My wife and I and another couple were playing golf at Alvamar Golf Course in Lawrence, Kansas, while Larry Brown was the coach at the University of Kansas. This was before KU won the national championship in 1988. On one hole we had all hit our balls onto the green and heard in the background someone calling, "Hey, come back here." Shortly a large black dog came bounding onto the green and picked up all four balls in his mouth, followed shortly thereafter by his master. His master took the four golf balls out of the dog's mouth, wiped them off and handed them back to us. We exchanged pleasantries and he and his dog departed. After they left my wife asked, "Was that Larry Brown?" I told her it sure was. Somehow we felt honored that Larry Brown's dog had our golf balls in his mouth.
